Description:

The NHS Logical Record Architecture (LRA) is designed to allow better information sharing and based on international standards. It describes what data should be shared across multiple applications and how data will be managed, accessed and interpreted between independent information systems.

The LRA is a major part of the Data Services work that CFH is delivering for NHS England, and this is an opportunity for HL7 UK members to get an understanding of what the LRA is, what it will be used for, how it will benefit the NHS, and how it will impact the HL7 UK membership.

This is a great opportunity to get a complete account of the Logical Record Architecture, aimed at those who have not been directly involved in its development and review to date.

  • What is the NHS CFH Logical Record Architecture?

  • What is the relationship between the LRA and HL7 standards in the UK?

  • What is the relationship of the LRA to other standards (CEN, ISO,Continua, IHE)?

Structure:

Presentations:

  • Introductory session describing the LRA and its use

  • Overview of LRA External Standards Conformance Package

Discussion:

  • How can the LRA deliver best value for HL7 UK members and the NHS?

  • How could the LRA program better engage with HL7?

  • How can the LRA products be used by HL7 UK and HL7.org?

Decision:

  • Next steps for HL7 UK?
