HL7 V3 and CEN/TC251/13606 Archetypes training workshop

HL7 Finland is arranging an introduction workshop to CEN TC251 13606 Archetypes and implementation using V3 and CDA R2.

The programme includes an update on NHS progress in clinical EHR content modelling (using openEHR archetypes):

• using openEHR techniques (archetypes and templates) to model clinical data capture models
• continuing to use HL7 V3, including CDA R2, for messages and messaged documents
• ongoing investigations into the best way to 'join up' clinical data capture with clinical data sharing (and other clinical data requirements models, possibly feeding into a national logical record architecture)
• ongoing investigations to develop both technical and practical guidelines for 'binding' SNOMED CT to detailed (i.e. highly constrained) clinical data models, such as the data capture ones mentioned above
• ongoing integrated tools development within the Open Healthcare Tooling (open source) initiative

The trainers will be familiar to HL7 UK members - they are Laura Sato who currently heads the Logical Record Architecture for Health and Social Care programme at NHS Connecting for Health (NHS CFH) and Charlie McCay who currently serves as chair of the HL7 Technical Steering Committee and also co-chair of the HL7 Implementation technology Committee.
